Rust is the number one enemy of any classic car. Bring a small magnet and a bright flashlight, and carefully inspect these “hot spots”:

• Frame Rails & Torque Boxes: These are the bones of the car. Look at the frame rails inside the front and the rear wheels–get down–and see whether they have been popped out of shape or rusted through badly. When the rust level gets to extreme levels, repairs may be very costly. Nevertheless, when a car is worth saving, not to worry, because we possess high-quality Replacement Assemblies.
• Floor Pans: Lift the carpets and check the metal floors under the feet of the driver and the passenger. Apply pressure with your hand and probe some soft spots or holes. It is an ideal locality to gather water. The good news is that floor pan replacement is a very common repair task, and there are wholesale sections available of the Front & Rear Floor Pan.
• Cowl Area: We should open the hood and note the area under the windshield where the wipers can be found. Over the years, leaves and other debris collect here, leading to rusting of the inside and outside of this part and eventual leaks into the cabin.
• Doors & Fender Lips: The bottom of Doors & Fender Lips has poor internal drainage, hence they rust internally. • Trunk Floor: Elevate the trunk mat and apply it to the spare tire depression and the corners. The most common leak and rust source here is a fading seal on the rear window. We have new 1966 mustang interior parts to this problem that are brand new solutions.
